Located in vocational or technology education establishments, the technological platforms (PFT) put their equipment and skills at the service of SMEs as part of their educational mission.
Within a given territory, technological platforms have the mission of organizing the support provided by educational institutions to innovation and modernization of businesses : general and technological high schools, vocational high schools, higher education establishments and public or private structures with identified technical platforms around a common theme.
Besides the objective of pooling their skills and resources for regional economic development, PFTs also an educational objective : Performing services for companies provides students with an opportunity to put their acquired knowledge into practice., to understand the company and facilitate its integration. For high schools, they offer the opportunity to promote technological and vocational pathways and, where necessary, to adapt their curriculum. They allow teachers to generate a source of pedagogical innovation.
