The BUT (Bachelor of Technology) is a national, public, three-year post-secondary diploma offered by all University Institutes of Technology (IUTs) in France. It is based on continuous assessment (six semesters) and is developed in partnership with industry. The specializations offered at the Paul Sabatier IUT remain the same as those previously offered by the DUT (University Diploma of Technology). The BUT offers an academic and professional curriculum that places significant emphasis on tutorials and practical work in small groups, projects, internships, and work-study programs.
In order to meet new industrial challenges, the Electrical Engineering and Industrial Computing (GEII) and Mechanical Engineering and Production (GMP) departments offer courses from the second year onwards that integrate robotics courses.
The BUT GEII trains senior technicians who work in fields related to electricity, electronics, industrial computing and their applications (automation, robotics, embedded systems, connected objects, energy…).
The BUT in Mechanical Engineering and Production (GMP) trains senior technicians who work in technical and professional management roles: design, industrialization, production, and maintenance. Graduates can work in diverse fields: transportation, nuclear, manufacturing, aerospace, etc.
